Nine years ago, in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, these walls were Painted (oil paint on brick). I took pictures of traveler's from the hostel I had been staying in, to create these murals. I painted my subjects mostly gazing up because I wanted to convey hope, which to me meant seeing beyond oneself. These murals are regrettably no longer visible due to a sizeable building next to them; and only have very limited photos myself.
